Mesto
(Multi-Ethnic Orchestra)

Led by Dr. Nabil Azzam (conductor, musician and composer), MESTO is a 35 member world music orchestra performing traditional and original compositions written or arranged exclusively for MESTO by Nabil and other members of the Orchestra. The compositions of MESTO are either from or based on the styles of the Middle East, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Persia, Armenia, Asia, Europe and America. Jamie has been a percussionist with the orchestra since its inception in 2000 and has performed in all of their local concerts.

What makes MESTO unique is that we combine classical instruments (violin, cello, viola, contrabass, woodwinds) with traditional folk instruments (oud, kanoun, mandolin, santour, tar, nay, tabla, dumbek, riqq, frame drums, and Arabic vocals)
